David L. Fingold

Vice President and Portfolio Manager

David L. Fingold is the lead portfolio manager of Dynamic Global Discovery Fund.

David has over 20 years of business, operational and investment experience including senior positions in corporate finance, sales, purchasing and marketing in the manufacturing, transportation and distribution industries. Prior to joining GCIC Ltd., he spent seven years as part of a team actively managing equity portfolios for a privately owned merchant bank.

David's keen interest in restructuring companies is the result of considerable professional experience focusing on businesses' core competencies and running organizations to maximize free cash flow. Before entering the money management industry, David held progressively senior roles with Slater Steels Corporation. Starting his career in purchasing, David soon added other disciplines to his mandate and moved on to lead marketing, sales and logistics as Vice President Commercial. In this role, he was instrumental in transforming the business' operating losses to profits. Extensive travel has fostered his interest in foreign markets and helped develop his ability to effectively navigate cultural, economic and political differences. David's work was widely acknowledged with a number of industry awards including the 2010 Canadian Investment Award for Best US Equity Fund. He also received Canadian Lipper Awards in 2011 (US Equity category), 2010 (US and Global Equity categories), 2009 (US and Global Equity categories), 2008 (US Equity category) and 2007 (Global Equity category).

Graduating in the top decile of his class, David earned a Bachelor of Science with High Distinction in management from Babson College in Wellesley, Massachusetts, in 1988.
